I will be writing up some picks for this Saturday’s 6 game EPL slate on FD that I like this weekend. These plays are designed more for single entries and cash over the large field GPPs. I will have some Sunday picks for DRS subs in the slack chat. If you are a monthly or season NBA member, message @ or @ to get added.
Saturday March 18th Matches
Leicester City @ West Ham
Watford @ Crystal Palace
Hull City @ Everton
Chelsea @ Stoke City
Brunley @ Sunderland
Swansea @ Bournemouth
First for those new to FD soccer, Clean Sheets and Saves are vastly important more so that Goal Conceded and Wins are not factored in. Key will be at the bottom for abbreviations.
Edin Jakupovic ($6400): Should be the high scoring keeper this week. He has shown up quite a few times in big matches and Hull City will need him here. Everton has forced the most saves during the 6 weeks so expect him to be busy here.
Jordan Pickford ($6400): Draws a favorable matchup this week against Burnley. They have struggled on scored just 9 times in 14 matches on the road. They puts the CS in play here. I like him to pick up a few saves as Sunderland defense is leaky at times.
Kasper Schmeichel ($6400): Schmeichel has been nothing short of amazing late and I like him to ride that momentum into this match vs West Ham. His play since Ranieri has been one heck of a ride. He has giving up 2 goals in last matches but his work between the woodwork is great, especially shutting out Sevilla during UCL. Oh yeah, he was the UCL player of the week, not bad getting nod above guys like Neymar and Messi.
Other Options: Lee Grant, Joel Robles, Thibaut Courtois
Jose Holebas ($5600): Holebas will likely line up around Zaha this week and should keep him busy. He will slide into midfield at times which will lead to some offensive stats.
Seamus Coleman ($6400): is an offensive backer who crosses a lot. Those crosses should lead to some CC. Know that rostering him you will need an assist to hit great value. He does occasionally rack up some CL to help with his value. I am looking for 30 plus if I roster him.
Geoff Cameron ($4800): Cameron should fine himself on the end of lots of TKL, INT, and CL this week against Chelsea. I expect him to crush his value rather easily.
Harry Maguire ($6400): I like Maguire stacked with Jakupovic this week. I don’t mind him stand alone
Leighton Baines ($6200): Most will be off Baines I assume but I love this play this week. He will be back and available but he is a risk for a substitute. He should be on penalty duty which gives him more value. Hull City has a knack for giving up PKs.
Bruno Martins Indi ($5900): Martins Indi has a knack for scoring decent amount of points in games against favorites. He is a great GPP option as I don’t expect a ton of ownership on him.
Other Options: Stephen Kingsley (might get the start), Alfie Mawson, Andrea Ranocchia, Younes Kaboul, Stephen Prodl
Ryan Frasor ($5400): Swansea can be attacked in the midfield and with Stanislas out that makes Frasor the play maker. I look for him to have freedom and to have lots CC. He is a great cheap value this week.
Gylfi Sigurdsson ($10500): When rostering this guy think of Russell Westbrook. He is a cash must and with the value near a GPP must. He is the only guy on the slate that can get 30 plus FD points with a goal.
Tom Huddlestone ($5400): He is a defensive midfielder and will be asked to slow down the Everton attack (Which won’t happen). He will be around Barkley most the time which is where the ball will be when in the middle of the field. Everton has given up the most TKL in the last 6 and been in tops of that category most the year.
Cesc Fabergas ($7800): All the Chelsea starting mids are in play but I am choosing Fabergas over them. He has been hot and when he gets the run shows the upside needed for a take down. After him I go Barkley, Hazard, Moses, Alonso in that order for the other mids.
Riyad Mahrez ($7100): Not only is Vardy and Schmeichel been hot during this stretch over the 3 matches but Mahrez has been the driving force. He is looking more like last year’s version of himself. He is creating plays for himself with the dribble and setting up the forwards for Leicester.
Michail Antonio ($6700): Antonio was a lock for me last week and he didn’t disappoint by any means. I like him again this week but he isn’t a lock for me due to all the quality options. You will more than likely need a goal from him for value. Leaving him in GPPs only.
Other Options: Andros Townsend, Daniel Drinkwater. Wilfried Zaha, Yohan Cabaye
Romelu Lukaku ($12600): Normally I tell you to fade those high priced forwards but I won’t be fading Lukaku this week. He is seeking a massive in league transfer and the more goals he scores the higher than number goes up. He is in the lead for the Golden Boot of the EPL (Top Scorer). He has a goal in 3 straight and 7 in his last 5 matches. I bet he nets one and leaning for the double dip.
Joshua King ($8700): King exploded for 3 goals last weekend and he will not get that but he has a good chance to get a goal here. Some might chase him and make him safer in cash with ownership. Swansea gives up tons of goals, assists, and SOGs in the last 6 weeks to lead the EPL during that stretch. Frasor and King are a great GPP stack.
Jermain Defoe ($7400): Draws a great matchup here and perfect forward to pair with Lukaku. I will say this now….Defoe Scores this week. I might even put a few bucks on it. Burnley has given up the 4th most away goals and been equally as bad as Swansea over the last 6 weeks.
Andy Carroll ($8200): I might be a glutton for punishment but I am going back to the well potentially here. He sunk me last week and many others but that is a risky a goal dependent forward. Leicester has leaked some away goals this week but won’t be as easy as it has in the past for that.
Troy Deeney: He is a great GPP option. He is in a stretch of 25 FD points in 5 of his last 6 with 5 goals in those matches. He is goal dependent but when a player is hot you want to ride that moment.
Other Options: Diego Costa, Pedro, Jamie Vardy, Benik Afobe
