Today we’re going to try and dig into this Slate and figure out which players top the charts in our “Dong Detector”. Our goal is to help you find HR hitters.
As we all know, everyone loves the long ball and in the DFS world, especially on Social Media, the MLB Long Ball is King. The HR is the key In DFS and having the player or two with a HR or two (aka Double Dong) can lead to winning lots of $$$.
2016-2017 FLY BALL and HARD HIT PERCENTAGES
Fly ball percentage refers to the percentage of balls in play that are fly balls. A pitcher with a low fly ball percentage will normally be more successful than one with a higher percentage, since home runs are typically hit on fly balls. SIMPLE, RIGHT????
There are ton of plays in a 12 game slate and the list below are the best ONE-OFFs to build your stacks around tonight.
Please note: I will not list bats in Coors or named Judge on this list. You play or fade them at your own risk.
George Springer (HOU) OF
When if all your hits against a pitcher are DONGs, you have to be on the Dong Detector, right? George Springer has 4 DONGs off LHP Ariel Miranda in 12 PAs!
Adrian Beltre (TEX) 3B
The Inner Harbor was filled with DONGs over the weekend. With the Rangers in town and RHP Chris Tillman on the mound, it’s going to stay that way. With a .344 ISO and 3 DONGs in the last 9 games, Adrian Beltre will be the Chalky DONG of the Night. Beltre has 1 DONG and a .467 BAA Tillman. Also, Tillman has a 5.55 SIERA and he’s going to the #1 TARGET on this slate. If you are into stacking, add ANY Ranger’s bat YOU LIKE!
Miguel Cabrera (DET) 1B
Over the last 2 weeks, the leaders in hard-hit% is Miguel Cabrera. Cabrera has only 1 DONG in that timeframe. Tonight that will changed. He faces LHP Jason Vargas and his 44.4% FlyBall%. Miggy has 1 DONG and .316BAA in 26PAs. Running a Tigers 1-4 Stack can be a nice low owned DONG filled lineup. Kinsler/Upton/Avila have a combined 6 DONGs off Vargas in 87PAs.
Jay Bruce (NYM) OF
With a .412 ISO and 52.2% hard-hit rate over the last 14 days, Jay Bruce is primed for the Dong Detector. Tonight he faces RHP Adam Wainwright, who has some success against with 2 DONGs and a .293 BAA. Bonus is that 20 of his 24 DONGs have come off RHPs. Play Bruce with confidence!
Steven Souza Jr. (TB) OF
RHP Daniel Gossett has allowed 2.35hr/9 at home to RHHs. Steven Souza should have lower ownership because most will stack up the Rays LHHs v Gossett. Gossett has allowed .380 wOBA vs RHH & 7 DONGS in only 20 innings! Souza has a .229 ISO and 131 WRC+ and 2 DONGs over the last 14 days.
Andrew McCutchen (PIT) OF
Andrew McCutchen owns a .458 ISO v LHP! Tonight, he gets to face a LHP Brent Suter. Over the last 14 days, McCutchen has a .325 ISO and 3 DONGs. McCutchen has a 44% hard-hit % over the same timeframe. An interesting not is that McCutchen has not homered at PNC v a LHP this year. That changes tonight!
Don’t forget to use #sheetsquad and #dongdetector with your tweets!!!
Good luck and stay in the green!
