Stacks are essential to most DFS players success during MLB season. This article will highlight some promising stacks in prime spots to go off. I will never write up Coors Field as it is a known hot bed for stacking. Stack’em up, Sheet Squad!
St. Louis Cardinals (Cash/GPP)
The Cardinals are the hottest hitting team in baseball scoring 42 runs in last 4 games. Not bad considering they needed a surge and are right in the thick of the NL Central race again (Great for baseball). They face a familiar face with Jason Hammel on the mound for the Royals. Hammel has been average this year but the hot bats is what draws me here with some of their BVP from old NL Central battles.
VS LHBs: .317 wOBA and .165 ISO
VS RHBs: .312 wOBA and .172 ISO
AS you see either side can be productive vs Hammel and all bats are in play. I know I said BVP was part of the reason I was drawing here but Matt Carpenter is a play I love. His BVP is horrible but I am setting that to the side because he has been hot during the Cards recent tear. I like Dexter Fowler a lot. His bat is heating up with 18+ fantasy points minimum in his last 3 games. Jose Martinez and Randal Grichuk are two other bats I love in this stack. Yadier Molina is viable as well.
Oakland Athletics (GPP)
Targeting Wade Miley has been kind to me this year and I have a feeling it will be tonight. Miley is garbage vs RHBs and the Athletics are a loaded team with power RHBs.
VS LHBs: .293 wOBA and .123 ISO
VS RHBs: .357 wOBA and .168 ISO
Khris Davis and Ryon Healy are the top plays here. Both are lefty mashers and have the pop to put one out tonight (Davis .233 ISO vs LHB; Healy .280 ISO vs LHB). They are locks if you are going this route. There are other quality cheap pieces to use here as well. Marcus Semien, Chad Pinder, and Jed Lowrie are a few. The Athletics always seem to be low owned and I wouldn’t expect anything different tonight.
Washington Nationals (GPP)
The Nationals draw a matchup vs Dan Straily tonight. Straily is a solid pitch so I lean GPP only here with Nationals. They can touch up anybody with the gauntlet of hitters so Straily isn’t touchable tonight to me. Straily is a reverse splits pitcher as the numbers show:
VS LHBs: .297 wOBA and .155 ISO
VS RHBs: .321 wOBA and .208 ISO
Just so happens my two favorite Nationals are RHBS….just like last night; Ryan Zimmerman, who was a monster at minimal ownership and Anthony Rendon, who missed the party yesterday. They will be the center of stack here. Adrian Sanchez is a cheap piece that is cash viable for salary relief. LHBs I like are the two obvious ones; Bryce Harper and Daniel Murphy but Adam Lind intrigues me more. He is a near minimum price OF with pop and good BVP here.
Others: (These are GPP options I find suitable as a second tier of Stacks I like)
New York Mets
New York Yankees
(Not giving up; just moving to GPP only)
Good Luck tonight Sheet Squad! Hit me up with any question on my twitter or in the Slack Channel for subs!
