Here are a few of the results from last week. I’ll be getting back to more frequent write ups soon.
MLB Top Stacks Results from Thursday 8/2/18
What an amazing day for the STACKS yesterday, 4 of the 9 went for over 100 including 3 of my favorite 6. I hope these helped you CRUSH last night, because we’re going to shoot for the moon again with tonight’s Top Stacks!!!
My Favorite MLB Top Stacks Today Friday 🇺🇸 August 3rd 🇺🇸
TEX vs BAL David Hess
Choo, Odor, Andrus, Gallo
These same 4 guys came through for us in a big way last night, putting up 132 Fanduel points on their own. Tonight, we’re going right back to the well here as they get a juicy matchup a crazy Orioles right hander. David Hess comes into tonight’s game with a 376 wOBA and 237 ISO to left handed pitchers. He allows a 47.4% fly ball rate and a 34.2% hard contact rate to lefties and only strikes them out 14.8% of the time. Against righties he is slightly better, but really not much, as he has allowed a 358 wOBA and 218 ISO so far this season. Combined with his 50% fly ball rate and 34% hard contact rate and the fact that he only strikes out 12.2% of right handers, this is not setting up well for Mr Hess tonight. Load up on these Rangers, use the 4 I listed here and mix and match any of the other 5 in the starting lineup, they should put up a bunch of crooked numbers this evening.
CLE vs LAA Jaime Barria
Lindor, Brantley, Ramirez, Encarnacion
We’ve got some warm weather in the beautiful city of Cleveland Ohio tonight, 89 degree temps with the wind blowing out to right field should lead to a great hitting environment. Jaime Barria is a reverse splits right hander, so he really struggles vs right handed hitters compared to left handed hitters. Against left handers, he only allows a 241 wOBA and 113 ISO, but against right handers he allows a 401 wOBA and a 274 ISO, along with a 45% fly ball rate and 41% hard contact rate. This is really my only concern about fully stacking the Tribe tonight, as they normally roll out 6 or 7 left handed hitters. I’ll still have plenty of exposure to them but not as much as I really wanted to have because of that.
WAS vs CIN Anthony Desclafani
Turner, Murphy, Harper, Soto
If you’ve look at the MLB Research Staionyou’ve already seen 3 Nationals left handed hitters sitting 1,2,3 on the DFSA Grades for today. That’s because so far this season Anthony Desclafani has allowed a 410 wOBA, 400 ISO, 43.2% fly ball rate and a 48.1% hard contact rate to left handed batters. He’s much better against right handers, only allowing a 314 wOBA and 117 ISO, however, he still gives up 48.7% hard contact. The targets here are the lefties however, Soto, Murphy, Harper are 1,2,3 on the “RS” and you can throw Adams and Eaton in there as well tonight if they are in the lineup.
The MLB Research Staion is my #1 source for research every single day and is one of the VIP Only tools our members have access to daily. Everything from wOBA and ISO vs the Handedness of today’s starting pitcher, to Average Exit Velocity this tool will cut your daily research time in half. If you’re familiar with Myself and Ben you already know the time we’ve put into the “Sheets” and we’re extremely happy to bring them over here to the DFS Army this year.
ARIZ vs SFG Chris Stratton
Goldschmidt, Peralta, Pollock, Escobar
There was a lot of talk this off season about the Humidor being added to the Ballpark in Arizona, and I believe the runs are down slightly because of it so far. However, that’s not going to scare me off the Diamondbacks tonight in this dreamy matchup against Chris Stratton the Giants right hander. Stratton enters tonight’s game allowing a 350 wOBA, 185 ISO, 29.8% fly ball rate and 37.6% hard contact rate to left handed hitters. His numbers are nearly identical to right handed batters, as he’s allowed a 349 wOBA, 183 ISO, 35.2% fly ball rate and a 50% hard contact rate. This is good news for us as we don’t need to get too cute with our D’Backs stacks. You can stack up the lefties and righties here tonight depending on the rest of your lineup construction.
DET @ OAK Brett Anderson (L)
Jones, Castellanos, Goodrum, Candelario
The Tigers are not a great Offensive team and I usually don’t look to target them with stacks unless of course they are facing a shitty left handed pitcher. Well, today, they get just that in a matchup with Athletics lefty Brett Anderson. The Tigers enter tonight’s game with the #1 Batting Average, #4 wOBA, #5 SLG and #4 OPS in the Majors vs left handed pitching. So far this season, Brett Anderson has given up a 423 wOBA, 255 ISO, 30.5% fly ball rate and 45.3% hard contact rate to right handed hitters. The ballpark is not great for hitters in Oakland, but that is not going to scare me off the Tigers tonight.
TB vs CHW Lucas Giolito
Kiermaier, Duffy, Bauers, Pham
The Tampa Bay Rays are another team that I don’t usually look to stack, but tonight’s matchup against White Sox right hander Lucas Giolito is just too juicy to ignore. Coming into tonight’s game Giolito has allowed a 388 wOBA, 219 ISO, 42.6% fly ball rate and 30.5% hard contact rate to left handed hitters. Against right handed hitters he has allowed a 330 wOBA, 193 ISO, 40% fly ball rate and 30.3% hard contact rate. I think the Rays are very stackable tonight and should go under owned because of the “unsexy” appeal of their lineup.

OTHER STACKS (GPP Only)
BAL vs TEX Ariel Jurado
Villar, Beckham, Jones, Trumbo
Very small sample size here for Rangers SP Ariel Jurado. Only 19 appearances vs lefties and 24 appearances vs righties so far this year, since being called up from AA. He pitched well against the Astros a few days ago and this Orioles Offense is as streaky as they come. Their lineup is really depleted since they traded Manny Machado to the Dodgers, but, they still have some real solid power hitters who could take advantage of the youngster tonight.
MIA @ PHI Vince Velasquez
Dietrich, Anderson, Realmuto, Bour
I started to write these guys up as purely a GPP play, based on the fact that Vince Velasquez can implode at any time. After digging in however, I realized that these left handers may be better plays that I was thinking originally. Velasquez has allowed a 336 wOBA, 215 ISO, 43.7% fly ball rate and a 33.8% hard contact rate to left handed hitters so far this season. Nobody ever rosters these Marlins hitters, and most people pick on them with opposing starting pitchers. Tonight however I love this as a leverage stack if we start to see the masses move towards Velasquez. Dietrich, Bour, are the targets here and I’m still going to leave the stack as “GPP Only” simply because the Marlins are not a very good Offense, I’ll be looking to target some of their lefties as one offs tonight rather than a full stack.
That’s all I’ve got tonight, I hope you all enjoyed the article and I hope you have a ton of success tonight. I look forward to see all of those DFS Army Helmets at the top of the leaderboards this evening !!!
