My Favorite MLB Top Stacks Today Friday June 22nd
**NOTE** — Coors Field, Rockies and Marlins both in play tonight, but I’m not going to write up either team — feel free to stack away if you choose to do so, I’ll do my best to get you off the beaten path of Coors Field tonight below.
Cardinals vs Brewers Junior Guerra
Carpenter, Pham, Martinez, Ozuna, + Fowler
Total Cost $14,800
💥Total DFSA Grade 316.3💥
Junior Guerra has not been terrible this year only allowing a 288/101 woba/iso to right handed hitters and only a 290/164 woba/iso to left handed hitters. If you look at his peripheral stats however, I’m not really sure how he’s been that good to be honest. Against left handed hitters he allows a 41.5% fly ball rate and a 43.2% hard contact rate, against right handed hitters he allows a 39.6% fly ball rate and a 35.6% hard contact rate. His main pitch is his fastball 92-94 mph and he throws it 46% of the time. He allows a 398 CXwOBA, and a 41% hard contact rate when he throws his fastball.
Cardinals lineup and last 14 day info:
My favorite Cardinals bats tonight (in order) vs Guerra are, Matt Carpenter, Tommy Pham, Jose Martinez, Marcell Ozuna and Dexter Fowler.
The MLB Research Staion is my #1 source for research every single day and is one of the VIP Only tools our members have access to daily. Everything from wOBA and ISO vs the Handedness of today’s starting pitcher, to Average Exit Velocity this tool will cut your daily research time in half. If you’re familiar with Myself and Ben you already know the time we’ve put into the “Sheets” and we’re extremely happy to bring them over here to the DFS Army this year.
Yankees vs Rays Stanek + Bullpen
Judge, Stanton, Torres, Andujar, + Sanchez
Total Cost $16,500
💥Total DFSA Grade 310.2💥
The Rays are giving us another bullpen game today so we can’t really dig in too much vs the “starter” Ryne Stanek as he’ll only pitch 1 or 2 innings tonight. Ryan Yarbrough is expected to come in after Stanek and pitch the “starters” innings. Yarbrough is a lefty who gives up a lot of fly balls, 40.4% to left handers and 37.8% to right handers. Looking back at his 2017 numbers combined with his 2018 numbers he’s worse against right handers than he is against left handers. He has given up a 384 wOBA and 323 ISO to righties dating back to the start of the 2017 season.
Yankees lineup and last 14 day info:
My favorite Yankees, in order tonight are: Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, Gleybar Torres, Migeul Andujar and Gary Sanchez. Of course the Yankees stack will not be a cheap one but you can use any of these 5 guys in a 3 man stack if you want to do so.
Blue Jays vs Angels Andrew Heaney
Smoak, Morales, Hernandez, Grichuk, + Travis + Martin
Total Cost $14,700
💥Total DFSA Grade 289.1💥
Tonight the Blue Jays get a matchup with Andrew Heaney who has been better this year than he was last year. I’m still not 100% sold however as his peripheral numbers are very bad, especially against right handed hitters. Heaney is a left handed pitcher who struggles against right handed hitters, so while he only allows a 310 wOBA and 187 ISO, he also allows a ton of hard contact (37.8%) and a ton of fly balls (42.2%) which as you can imagine is not a good combination.
Blue Jays lineup and last 14 day info:
My favorite Blue Jays tonight, in order are: Justin Smoak, Kendrys Morales, Teoscar Hernandez, Randall Grichuk, Devon Travis and Russell Martin. I think these may go very underowned tonight, as I said the matchup with Heaney doesn’t jump off the page until you look a little deeper.
