You like that? How about that Season Kurt Cousins put together in 2015. Pretty solid for a guy that wasn’t even announced as the team’s starting QB until a week or so before the Season was set to begin. He led the league in completion % and had a 24/3 TD/INT during the Redskins final 11 games of the Season. He’s got a great head coach who is very good at getting the most out of his QB’s. I think the $20 million franchise tag is a crazy number, but, if Cousins can deliver again this year, he could be looking at ELITE NFL QB money coming this Off Season.

He’ll have some more help this year, as DeSean Jackson will be 100% back from his injury, Pierre Garcon is still doing his thing and now rookie WR Josh Doctson from the uptempo TCU Horned Frogs Offense has joined the group.

Did I forget to mention Jordan Reed? The Cousins / Reed combo was a near must-own combo on all formats during their playoff push last year. Reed has put up some Elite numbers in his short time with Cousins 109 receptions for 1,218 yards and 12 TD (including playoffs). He is clearly Cousins’ go to receiving option, and even with Jackson, Garcon, Doctson available this year, I don’t see that changing much.

The Skins have a 7.5 win total in Vegas and I feel like that is criminally low. Considering what they did last year, and what they added (and are getting back) in the Off Season. I’m taking the over on this one and I believe they’ll compete for the NFC East Division Crown. YOU LIKE THAT?

This isn’t a team that pops out on either side of the ball. They’re more talked about because of their team name than their play.

What’s surprising to me is that Kirk Cousins ended up in the top 15 in all passing categories last year but what’s most surprising is he was 7th in completions while being 12th in pass attempts, putting him at 69.8% completion% which was the best in the league. They’re not really known for running the ball so I’m staying away from any RBs here but I’ve always been a fan of DeSean Jackson but what worries me is he only received 5 targets per game. The targets were dominated by Jordan Reed (8 per game) and Pierre Garcon (7 per game) and it doesn’t help that DeSean was hurt in the 1st half of the year. The ball is spread around pretty well in this offense and Kirk does a good job at completing passes. There’s a boom/bust nature to this offense which makes anyone not named Jordan Reed tough to use in cash games. Jamison Crowder became a big part of this offense’s usage last year even though he ended up with the same amount of points as DJax who missed 7 games.

Cash Thoughts: I can certainly see myself using Kirk Cousins in cash but it has to be a good matchup. He threw for 29 TDs and 11 INTs last year with the 69% completion %. I’d use him as a standalone option or pair him with Jordan Reed as a QB/TE stack. I don’t think I would use any of the other players unless the price or matchup really stands out.

GPP Thoughts: My go to here would be stacking Kirk with DeSean Jackson because of his boom/bust nature. You can use any pass catcher on this offense in GPPs especially the QB/WR1/TE stack or QB/WR1/WR2or3 with Pierre Garcon or Jamison Crowder. I would maybe use QB/TE/WR1/WR2 if I thought the Redskins were going to score a ton of points.
