Both Fanduel and Draft Kings have 2 game “opening” day Preseason contest. Below are my breakdowns of each games on who provides the best option for each position.
Dallas v Arizona:

QB Kellen Moore should get a chance to run with a few starters. He should play the same role as Dak Prescott did last year for the Cowboys before the Romo injury. He’s going to be very chalky. Luke McCown is battling Moore for the backup job. Keep an eye on this game for next week’s game.
RB At this point, the Cowboys have 3 veteran RBs (Elliott/McFadden/Morris.) UDFA Rod Smith, out of the Ohio State, is the 3rd RB on the depth chart, after passing Alfred Morris, and should get a ton of snaps for the Cowboys. Morris may see some carries with him fighting for a spot on the 53-man roster, but nothing for DFS purposes here. Ronnie Hillman was a recent signee to keep an eye if Elliot is suspended.
WR Last preseason, Cole Beasley led the Cowboys with 8 recs for 74 yards. Since his breakout season in 16’, I don’t expect Beasley to that active. A player making noise in camp is Ryan Switzer. OC Cowboys OC Scott Linehan expects the fourth-rounder to have a “significant” role in the team’s offense. Keep an eye on him. Switzer is Questionable tonight, but he’s a guy to key an eye on in the next few weeks. Brice Butler is a common name now and will be the only WR, I’d play from this unit night.

RB Last preseason, all Cardinal RBs had an impact. The top guy was Kerwynn Williams. He averaged 57.5Yds/G but failed to score. Williams is now the backup to David Johnson. They drafted T. J. Logan and I’d expect Logan to get a big role this preseason as well. There was talk of moving Andre Ellington to WR in the offseason, nothing is indicated that in training camp, but he may run some routes this preseason which might make for an interesting DFS play in the coming weeks.
WR Starting WR, John Brown is injured so the depth chart is flux currently. Jaron Brown looks to fill John Brown’s roll in the offense. Last preseason’s top WRs are still on the roster, Marquis Bundy and Britton Golden. At this point, those two are the only WR to consider.
Houston v Carolina
We are still over a week away from this game but I will provide a baseline to get you where you need to be a help with your research. I do think like most NFL DFS for 2 games slate, the Dallas and Arizona will be higher owned.

QB With the trade of Brock Osweiler to Cleveland, the Texans will have a looking for new starter at QB. The QB competition between Tom Savage and 1st rounder Deshaun Watson is one that will develop throughout the preseason. This game Savage is expect to start but Watson will get plenty of snaps against backups and guys trying to latch on the Panther’s team. Watson has the potential to be this year’s Dak Prescott. Last season, Tom Savage was the backup to Osweiler game 1 and was 14/24 and 2TDs. (Osweiler played all of the 1st Quarter) Current 3rd stringer Brandon Weeden played the final 5 minutes of the game.
RB Lamar Miller has the starting nod locked up, don’t play him. The 1st game in 2016, Miller has 4 carries. The backups are the ones that will get most of the reps in this game. Alfred Blue is the primary backup and the rest is very cloudy. Akeem Hunt and Tyler Ervin are battling for a roster spot after the Texan drafted D’Oanta Freeman. Freeman was arrested Sunday and was out of shape when he reported to camp.
WR The injury to Will Fuller will most certainly bump the Jalen Strong and Braxton Miller snap counts and ownership this slate. I would expect a TD from one of the two as they try to build chemistry with Watson.

QB Cam Newton is out or will play very little and that leaves some snaps to backups Derek Anderson and Joe Webb. Webb is intriguing play against the 2nd backups. He can produce on his feet and in the air. He’s a GPP flier if you want to be sneaky
RB Probably the most hyped player in the slate. Christian McCaffrey has been doing wonders in camp and will be popular. The upside is there as he’s playing against the backups. Fozzy Whittaker may see some snaps with the starters but I think McCaffrey will be the play.
WR Russell Shepard is going to be a name to look for these next 4 weeks. Cam Newton has been building a nice rapport and he can have a nice preseason if he’s getting the snaps. Curtis Samuel is not expect to play at this time.
