The Triple Deke will be a daily piece written by myself and my co-writer Jonathan Scharf (@McKinley_412) on an alternating basis. Each day we will give you two of our favourite (yes that’s how you spell it in Canada) plays in 3 different pricing tiers, High, Medium, and Low as well as a goalie play. For the season opener, we will be bringing you two articles, Jonathan will be looking after the Draftking plays and I will be looking at the Fanduel plays. Hopefully throughout the year we can help you guys win some money. So without further ado, let’s get the Triple Deke started.
High Dollar Plays
W: Patrick Laine – Winnipeg Jets ($7500 FD)
Last game, the Jets exploded for 7 goals against the Penguins however somewhat surprisingly the combo of Laine-Little-Ehlers were not part of the score sheet at all. I am going to try and use that to my advantage today as the majority of people who will be playing the Jets today will be going with Scheifele and Wheeler. Laine has had a little bit of a slow start to the season as he has 6 points in 10 games. However he is shooting the puck as he is averaging 3 shots per game and I think is due for a breakout game. Laine makes for a great GPP play today as you will probably have a good chance to get him at lower ownership even for a 3 game slate.
C: Mika Zibanejad – New York Rangers ($7200 FD)
So far this year, the Vegas Golden Knights have been an incredible story, however they are also a little down on their luck and they have now lost their 3rd goalie to injury. Tonight they will be starting Maxime Lagace and I am afraid the good times are going to be coming to an end. Zibanejad has been the most consistent scorer for the Rangers this year and it could be open season for the Rangers tonight. Zibanejad plays on a line with Rick Nash and JT Miller, and it could be a nice line to stack tonight. Mika is good for cash or GPP today.
Mid Dollar Plays
W: Clayton Keller – Arizona Coyotes ($6100 FD)
Despite all the losses that Arizona has had, Clayton Keller has really stood out for the Coyotes. On the season he has 13 points in 12 games and he averages close to 4 shots a game. Today he faces off against the Detroit Redwings and even though his Coyotes are on a back to back I still think that they will score a couple of goals. More likely than not, Keller will be involved in the offense and I like him today for cash and GPP.
D: Mike Green – Detroit Redwings ($5100 FD)
The Redwings are up against the Arizona Coyotes today who yesterday finally got into the win column with a 4-3 win over the Flyers. Despite the win, these are still the Coyotes and they still have the worst PK and they still give up the most goals per game. I like Mike Green today and think that Detroit will be able to get a few goals, especially the PP. With Arizona being on a back to back they could have some tired legs and take some more penalties today, so it puts Green in a nice spot. With such a small slate I think Green is safe to use in Cash and GPP today.
Low Dollar Plays
W: Nino Niederreiter – Minnesota Wild ($4500 FD)
Welcome back Nino Niederreiter! El Nino makes his return from injury and is going to be playing along Eric Staal. Slowly but surely the Wild are getting healthy. The return of Niederreiter is going to help that offence improve as last season he and Staal had really good chemistry. Today they are up against the Jets who can give up a few goals per game. I like Nino today for GPP as it is his first game back and is not quite safe yet for cash.
W: Jesper Fast – New York Rangers ($3400 FD)
As I have been doing with my articles recently, I am going to use this last spot to try and pick a low cost low owned GPP option. Now since it’s only a 3 game slate, the ownership may not be as low, however I think Fast has a chance to put up some points and come at pretty low ownership. With Vegas on a back to back and with their 4th string goalie in net, New York will be scoring goals. If we can get a low owned goal it can only benefit your lineup. I like Fast as a GPP play only.
G: Henrik Lundqvist – New York Rangers ($8600 FD)
As bad as King Henrik has been this year, this is probably going to be the best spot that he is going to be in all year. He is facing off against Vegas tonight, who like I have mentioned are on a back to back and have their 4th string goalie in net. A win is very likely here and hopefully he can keep the goals down to 2 or under for the night. Henrik is usable in cash tonight and is also fine to use in GPPs.

I live in Vancouver, Canada and as a profession I work in the Hospital as an x-ray technologist. I have been a rabid sports fanatic since I can remember. When I was growing up, my favourite sports teams were at their peaks; Cowboys were winning Superbowls, the Pacers were breaking the hearts of Knicks fans, Bluejays were winning World Series, and the Canucks were a post away from Messier not raising another cup. The sports life was good. Slowly but surely however, my sports teams’ successes started to diminish. Thats when I turned to season long fantasy sports, to add a little excitement to my sports life and have been playing that format ever since. Eventually, I became a victim of all the advertisement and tried my hand at DFS. I currently play NHL and NFL DFS, and am starting to try my hand at PGA
