Here is my nightly breakdown of games.
I do not have pricing available as I typically don’t like to look at when I breakdown the slate.
It seems to sway my thoughts too much.
Boston at Washington.
This by far will be the most popular game of the slate tonight. Highest over under and only a 1 point spread. Supposedly Wizards wearing all black to “bury” the Celtics. I’m not opposed to either PG with Thomas and Wall but think they will be extremely popular. Thomas did go for 38 real points last time they played. Wall did decent but Beal had a monster night. Marcus Smart has been getting lit up on the perimeter and don’t think that changes tonight. Both SF spots have been attackable for both teams this year. I certainly like the thoughts of Gortat(after a bad game yesterday) and Morris against one of the worst rebounding teams. Zeller did extremely well against Gortat yesterday but Horford has been up and down with IT carrying the load. Some lower owned plays here I like and maybe somewhat more on DK are Rozier(no Bradley and no Gerald Green), Jaylen Brown will see 15-20 mins against weak defender Oubre. Kelly Olynyk could see some decent minutes tonight as well and if his shot is going down he can put up points in a hurry
Chicago at Orlando.
Fournier decision dictates a lot here in my opinion. Even he is out here are my thoughts. Payton usage sky rockets when Fournier out and gets a weaker defender in MCW and Rondo while on the court. Watson has been starting at SG and while not an elite defender he is decent. If Fournier is out I absolutely love Butler tonight. He will draw Aaron Gordon who is one of the weaker defenders in the league. The Bulls are very weak defensively in the front court which certainly helps the likes of Ibaka and Vucevic. I don’t mind those plays at all but usage has been less since being back in the starting role and Fournier out. If Fournier does play I then like Wade more and Butler a little less. Biyombo had a nice game last time but don’t go chasing there. Bulls typically don’t run smaller lines like GSW did to the Magic the other night. If Augustine out Payton will see more mins as well as Hezonja. Update Jerian Grant slated to start. I think this helps Wade and Butler more. Up in the air a little on if it helps Payton.
LA Clippers Philadelphia.
This is the most interesting game of the slate in my opinion. With so much uncertainty of who plays and how much they play will dictate who does well here. My first part is if Blake plays and then I will discuss if he DOESNT or limited mins. Blake on the floor makes either Felton or Rivers to the bench. If Rivers starts I love McConnell in this spot. Still like him against Felton as well but Rivers is bad defensively. Reddick should see an increase in good looks with Blake on the floor because of his spacing and ability to pass the ball. The big factor with Blake playing also will move Mbah to cover Covington. I don’t like to attack Mbah. Blake is a good defender and if everyone remembers when they had normal starters at the beginning of the year they were elite across the board. Blake helps rim protect and has become a decent wing defender. So while Ersan will have to score to compete I’m not so sure price helps the upside. Jordan draws a great matchup against the defenseless Okafor(questionable) but I’m not so sure his upside is there with his price still inflated. If Blake sits. Mbah shifts to PF and then likely Rivers at SF which helps Covington greatly. Depending on Okafor if he plays I think Noel and Saric are intriguing options.
San Antonio at Toronto.
Derozan out. Tony Parker out. Manu probable. So last night we had the dfs world chasing the wrong pieces of the Spurs. Now does it happen again with them chasing the other pieces?? Lowry is in a great spot tonight and will have to shoulder most of the load. Murray in my opinion is in a much better spot than he was last night and Mills in not as great of a spot tonight. Murray should do much better with more options on the floor. Norman Powell is slated to start and I think Ross sees extended minutes as well. While minutes help with production I prefer Ross. He is more of a spot up shooter that could excel if his shot is falling. Manu will run the second team and do well. The defensive specialists for both teams are facing one another and Kawhi price has been climbing recently. Noguiera is decently priced and Aldridge usage will be much less tonight with Kawhi back. Jval gets likely the best matchup of the night against David Lee and usage considerably higher without Derozan. Cory Joseph will see more minutes tonight and will go extremely overlooked tonight.
Utah at Denver.
Hood out. Arthur, Mudiay, Harris all GTD. Attacking Denver guards has been very beneficial this year which makes George Hill and Ingles good plays especially with Ingles price. With Mudiay a game time decision it will be interesting who you want to use here as the PG spot has been very vulnerable to Utah recently. Jamal Murray is very interesting and cheap. Malone really liked the way he played recently and could be a nice punt. Another player to attack against Utah is Hayward who is generally a week defender. So Gallinari and Wilson Chandler when not playing the PF are both viable. Jokic has been a monster lately but with his price being up and facing Favors and Gobert I’m just not a huge fan and could be a foul trouble spot which would open up minutes for Nurkic. Faried has a bad matchup as well. Not opposed to either Favors or Gobert but certainly sure Favors has the larger upside.
Minnesota at Phoenix.
Ricky Rubio is GTD along with Bender. Bledsoe is on fire and shoulder a lot of the load recently and draws a decent matchup either against Rubio or Dunn. PG for Phoenix have been playing surprisingly well defensively recently and I think could be because Knight hasn’t played very much. Booker and lavine are amongst the worst defenders on the slate and love both of them tonight. Wiggins can go off on any given night and will draw Warren tonight who is very vulnerable. Deing has a great matchup against Chriss and Len might see some extended run tonight if Bender sits. KAT is KAT and has been playing well and seems to always go underowned.
Hopefully this helps identify some plays for tonight.
Let me know if this helps anyone!! @
