Today we’re going to try and dig into this Slate and figure out which players top the charts in our “Dong Detector”. Our goal is to help you find HR hitters.
As we all know, everyone loves the long ball and in the DFS world, especially on Social Media, the MLB Long Ball is King. The HR is the key In DFS and having the player or two with a HR or two (aka Double Dong) can lead to winning lots of $$$.
FB% for the projected starting pitchers:
Fly ball percentage refers to the percentage of balls in play that are fly balls. A pitcher with a low fly ball percentage will normally be more successful than one with a higher percentage, since home runs are typically hit on fly balls. SIMPLE, RIGHT????
Tonight, we have a MASSIVE slate and below are a list of ONE-OFFs. You can also build your stacks around them. All their teams are in great matchups.
Jake Lamb (ARI) 3B
With the Snakes highest ISO of .274 over the last 14 weeks, Jake Lamb returns to the Dong Detector primed to go deep. Tonight, the hitter-friendly ballpark of Great America will continue to fill up with DONGs like a ½ off sale of SKYLINE Chili! RHP Sal Romero has a DONG wonderful 2.25HR/9 over his 2 starts. He is allowing a massive 55% fly ball rate and 56% hard contact.
Joey Gallo (TEX) 1B
With a .311 ISO v RHP and 17 DONGs, Joey Gallo shows up on the Dong Detector once again. All this guy does is DONG or strikeout. Well, tonight, he is in a great hitter environment v dreadful strikeout pitcher v LHHs; RHP Dylan Bundy. Bundy has allowed 18 DONGs in his last 14 starts and is allowing a .218 ISO to LHHs. Also, Bundy has allowed a 49% fly ball rate to LHHs in 2017. Don’t shy away from this game, Rangers are in a great spot again.
Matt Adams (ATL) 1B/OF
You really have to like the matchup for the Braves LHHs tonight versus RHP John Lackey. Lackey has one of the league’s worst wOBAA LHHs at .378. Also, Lackey has a 37% fly ball rate and a 37% hard contact against LHHs. Matt Adams has a 1 DONG and a .273BAA Lackey in 11PAs with a 100.3 aEV! Pair him with Freddie Freeman and other LHHs can be a great way to attack GPPs.
Steve Pearce (TOR) OF
I missed this lefty masher last night, but tonight he’s back on the menu with another LHP matchup. Pearce has homered in 2 of the last 4 games and against LHP Brian Johnson, it will be 3 of the last 5 tomorrow morning. Johnson has allowed a .376 wOBA and a 37% hard contact rate to RHHs. The Jays will be very popular since they can get all RHHs against him. ALL Jays bats are in play!
Didi Gregorius (NYY) SS
This play might be a tad chalky since Gregorius will be facing RHP Bartolo Colon and EVERYONE in the world knows it. Colon’s agent has somehow convinced the Twins to sign him and that’s great for DFS players that have made some cash stacking against him. I’d expect tonight to be the same old Colon. Didi Gregorius has a .205 ISO against RHPs and he’s very cheap on FanDuel. Start him.
DAY EARLY DONG
Miguel Cabrera (DET) 1B
We are going back to Miggy train in another great matchup. Over the last 2 weeks, he is one of leaders in hard-hit%. However, Cabrera has only 1 DONG in that timeframe. He faces LHP Travis Wood, who is allowing a .370 wOBAA RHHS. It’s going to happen and I think we were just a day early.

Good luck and stay in the green!
